1. Burj al Arab / Dubai

Burj al Arab
The spectacular Burj Al Arab, designed to resemble the graceful sails of an Arabian dhow, soars to a height of 321 meters, dominating the Dubai coastline. The all suite hotel is situated on a man-made island some 280 meters offshore and is linked to the mainland by a slender, gently curving causeway. Each of the 202 suites is arranged over two floors all with floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows and stupendous views of the sea. The highest standards of personal service are enhanced by private reception desks on every floor. These standards are further typified by the hotel's own fleet of Rolls-Royces and the recently introduced luxury helicopter service.

2. Ice Hotel / Canada

Ice Hotel
Imagine a structure made completely of 12,000 tons of snow and 400 tons of ice with ceilings over 5.4 meters high, walls covered with original artwork, and furniture carved out of ice blocks. The Ice Hotel is one of the most unique feats of construction. It takes approximately five weeks to erect this masterpiece of architecture. From its first incarnation measuring 1,000 square meters the Ice Hotel Quebec-Canada now covers more than 3,000 square meters. Keeping the originality and revitalizing the design and decor, the Ice Hotel artisans amaze everyone by modifying and creating new elements every year. De Kromme Raake
This former grocery shop was converted into a one-room-hotel and was decorated in art deco style by the founder of the hotel and two artists. The hotel was named after an arm of the sea which passes through the village of Eenrum. Henk Vonhoff, the former provincial governor of Groningen, ceremonially opened the smallest hotel in the world in 1989. The hotel was immediately listed twice in the Guinness Book of Records. At the opening of the smallest hotel in the world wine was poured from the biggest bottle of Beaujolais in the world.
