Rossett Hall Hotel is located in the quaint
village of Rossett/ at the gateway to North Wales/
yet just 6 miles from the historic walled city of
Chester and 6 miles from the market town of Wrexham.
Set in lovely gardens/ Rossett Hall/ a Georgian
country house hotel/ with well equipped bedrooms is
completely non-smoking with free WiFi and ample
parking. The air-conditioned/ elegant/ Oscars bar
and restaurant/ serves freshly cooked tasty and
imaginative food/ and is open all day.
The historic Roman walled city of Chester/ with its
Cathedral and fabulous designer shops on the
historic City Rows is just 10 minutes drive away.
Enjoy boat trips on the River Dee or leisurely
walks by the River. Chester Zoo is the largest
in the Country. Just outside Chester are major
shopping parks selling all the leading brand names.
The market town of Wrexham is the largest town in
North Wales/ with its permanent Market Hall.
Guests at Rossett Hall are impressed by the stress
free and convenient bus service situated directly
outside the hotel entrance to the centre of either
Chester or Wrexham/ not to mention avoiding the high
cost of parking in Chester city centre. Buses run
every 8 to10 minutes/ taking you directly into the
centre of either Chester or Wrexham within 10 minutes
of embarking.
The original house was built in 1750 by James Boydell/
later to become the Lord Mayor of London/ but the then
sheriff to the local Harwarden estate/ better known under
the family name of Gladstone. The original house is a
fine example of the periods Georgian architecture. A
grade two listed building/ the house boasts a fine
cantilever staircase built of sandstone which was designed
by a Flemish architect captured during the Napoleonic war.
A small footnote of local fable is that Lord Nelson courted
Emma Hamilton at Rossett Hall when visiting Harwarden/
but perhaps not unsurprisingly/ this is not documented
anywhere.
The property has been sympathetically extended around the
Georgian Hall in 1990 and again in 2007/ combining the
classical with the contemporary/ to become one of the
leading hotels in the area. |
