Gran Meliá Fénix: a hotel with a grand history
The new facilities at the Gran Meliá Fénix have managed to recover their former splendor and restore the hotel to its rightful place in the history of Madrid. Inaugurated in 1953 with the assistance of the actor Gregory Peck, what was then known as the Hotel of the Nobility was also visited in the same year by the actresses Gloria Swanson and Rita Hayworth, amongst many other celebrities. It was in 1965 when the Beatles decided to hold one of the most well-attended press conferences ever seen in the capital in the hotel while also taking four luxury suites. Since then, the hotel became the scene of many illustrious events and personalities in the history of Madrid. äusserst freundliches und aufmerksames Personel; geräumige und gut ausgestattete Zimmer
Für den Preis definitiv mehr erwartet. Zimmer sehr
klein. Man konnte kaum ums Bett gehen. Lediglich ein Stuhl im Zimmer, kein Tisch, Essen durch den Zimmerservice praktisch nicht möglich, lediglich auf Terrasse, war aber dafür zu kalt. Terrassenmöbel billigste Korbmöbel, sehr ungepflegt. Ganz kleines Bad. Beim setzen auf die Toilette die Knie am Badewannenrand angestoßen.
Frühstück eher mittelmäßig, für gekochte Eier nicht mal Eierbecher, jede Tasse Kaffee mußte extra geordert werden, Service sehr schleppend.
In der Preiskategorie sind wir besseres gewohnt. Würde ich nicht weiterempfehlen.){kind=link}
