Down Hall is steeped in history dating back to 1322 when it was part of the crown estates. In 1540 Down Hall was sold by Henry VIII and thereby began its historical journey through 900 years to the present day. In 1981 Down Hall was converted to a hotel and since then has undergone an extensive renovation that has seen the introduction of the amenities demanded by todays business traveller- whilst retaining it charm and historical elegance.
