hotel.de announces positive booking figures for the 2nd quarter of 2007

Nuremberg, 4 July 2007 - The global hotel reservation service hotel.de built on the strong growth reported in preceding months in the second quarter as well. The company today announced a 49.2% increase in its booking volumes to Euro 78.1 million (Q2 2006: Euro 52.4 million). With year-on-year growth of 71.7%, June was the strongest month in this respect. In the first half of 2007, the company's bookings volumes therefore rose by 50.6% to Euro 153.3 million compared with the first six months of 2006 (Euro 101.8 million).
Positive performance in international business
Dr. Heinz Raufer, CEO of hotel.de AG is particularly pleased with the performance of the company's international business. "With growth of 96.25% from Euro 17.7 million to Euro 34.7 million in the second quarter, we virtually doubled our booking volumes in this division, thus increasing the international share of total booking volumes to 44.4%. Our success in other countries has thus affirmed our expansion strategy, as well as our target of becoming the market leader in Europe." In the first half of 2007 as a whole, international booking volumes rose from Euro 35.5 million to Euro 67.0 million, equivalent to growth of 88.7% on the first six months of 2006.
Booking volumes act as an indicator of the company's future business performance, given that revenues are generated at a later date from the commissions on such bookings. Commissions account for the largest share of the company's sales. The company will publish its operating results for the second quarter in mid-August. "These will also reflect the success of the measures we have taken to reactivate existing customer relationships and to acquire new customers", added Dr. Raufer.
