hotel.de: strong bookings figures for the 3rd quarter of 2007 underline success of international expansion
Nuremberg, 8 October 2007* - hotel.de AG, one of the leading worldwide hotel reservation services, generated booking volumes of Euro 230.2 million in the first nine months of 2007, already exceeding the figure reported for the entire previous year. During the 3rd quarter, traditionally a strong period, hotel.de increased its booking volumes by 51.6% from Euro 57.0 million to Euro 86.4 million. With growth of 59.1% to Euro 35.5 million, the international business once again reported very pleasing developments in this respect (previous year: Euro 22.3 million).
International business exceeds expectations
"Our expansion into other European countries is developing very well", commented Dr. Heinz Raufer, CEO of hotel.de AG. "We have gained a foothold in France and the UK more rapidly than expected." hotel.de will therefore be establishing an office in Spain in November of this year already. The company is also planning to step up its marketing activities in Italy. "The success of our international activities to date provides our expansion plans with extra momentum. We aim to quickly build up a leading position in the most important markets", explained Raufer.
hotel.de with new cooperation partner
With booking volumes of Euro 31.6 million and growth of 58.7% compared with the equivalent period in 2006, September was the most successful month in the quarter. Raufer is confident that hotel.de will maintain its course of strong growth. "We expect the cooperation agreed with Opodo in September alone to generate additional booking volumes in a double-digit million range in the first year of the partnership already."
