hotel.de is now pushing ahead with its international programme under the domain name TravelRes – a new office has been set up in Paris, France.
Paris, 13th February 2007 — With 180,000 hotels worldwide, hotel.de/TravelRes is one of the leading online reservation services in the European market. Both private and business customers can book hotels of all categories quickly and free of charge and at the most recent rates.
Having successfully implemented the hotel reservation service "hotel.de" in the domestic German market, the company is now focussing on its expansion into other important European countries. To aid this expansion, it has created the international brand “TravelRes” and has reserved all relevant country domains.
Under the new brand “TravelRes,” a corporate clients programme has already been implemented in the UK under the domain names travelres.co.uk and travelres.com. An office opened in London in September, 2006.
In order to support the new client and hotel acquisition operation in France, a branch was set up in Paris in January, 2007. The first potential clients are French-based subsidiaries or parent enterprises of German companies which have already signed a contract with hotel.de/TravelRes. However, it is also planned to acquire French key accounts currently looking for online or direct booking services. The company aims to establish TravelRes as the leading reservation service for corporate customers in France under www.travelres.fr and subsequently in the whole of Europe.
There has already been a positive development in the number of bookings undertaken by French clients eventhough the office only opened in the 4th quarter of 2006. More than 8,300 room nights were generated, meaning a booking volume growth of about 90% compared to the same period in the previous year. Ms. Warini Munshi, Managing Director of TravelRes France, says: "Compared with our start in Germany 5 years ago, the market entry into France has been easier. Nowadays the online reservation of hotels is well established and shows a great increase. Furthermore it is now apparent how important and precious our already successful, worldwide hotel range has become.”
TravelRes is the international brand of hotel.de AG. This brand name was reserved in 2006 to help push ahead its expansion into other European countries. In this context the company has also reserved all other relevant country domains.
To support customer and hotel acquisition hotel.de has already set up offices in London and Paris, which will be followed by other important countries.
The strong customer loyalty and the high ratio of business customers facilitate hotel.de´s entry into new markets as many foreign-based subsidiaries or parent enterprises of German companies contracted by hotel.de, have already been using TravelRes since its inception. This clientele are the first potential customers. The aim is to establish TravelRes as the leading online hotel reservation service for business customers in the aforementioned foreign markets and – step by step – in Europe as a whole.
hotel.de AG, based in Hamm and Nuremberg, Germany, London, UK and Paris, France runs a free of charge hotel reservation service for companies and private users on www.hotel.de, www.travelres.com, hotel.at and www.hotel.ch. hotel.de/TravelRes offers 180,000 hotels worldwide to be booked online. Compared to other booking channels, hotel.de/TravelRes customers benefit from considerable cost savings. These partially result from the very low hotel rates which hotel.de/TravelRes is able to negotiate with hotels, thanks to its high booking volume. Additionally, hotel.de/TravelRes always displays all rates available for every single hotel (e.g. promotional rates, corporate or weekend rates), so that the customer can choose the lowest or best-fitting rate. Another major advantage of hotel.de/TravelRes is the fact that booking confirmations are sent right into the hotel’s computer - making a reservation fast, safe and reliable. This is enabled by hotel.de/TravelRes’ unique integration of the hotels' central reservation systems (so-called CRS) under one consistent user surface. Well-known companies, such as Wella AG (subsidiary of Procter & Gamble), SAP AG, ThyssenKrupp AG, degussa AG, Logica CMG GmbH, Ernst & Young AG, Wal-Mart, Texas Instruments Inc., Deutsche Börse Group, Munich Re Group and others already use the hotel.de/TravelRes corporate application.
